Commissioned by Regional Arts Australia (RAA), the “National Visual Arts Showcase 2015 - Right Here Now: A powerful regional voice in our Democracy” will consist of 14 artists from 7 States and Territories working in creative partnership to produce 14 new artworks for a exhibition at the Museum of Australian Democracy, Old Parliament House, Canberra opening on 10th November 2015.

This project will reflect the diversity of practitioners, modes of production and ideas found in the contemporary arts across regional Australia.
Drawn from regional areas the project will pair 7 established artists with 7 early career artists across mediums and disciplines in mentor/mentee relationship. This relationship is intended as a creative, flexible one which will  result in a new artwork from each participant being presented in the exhibition.
The Curators’ Department will play a lead role facilitating the mentorships and presenting the resulting artworks both in the exhibition and accompanying catalogue.
